About this deal
Welcome to the Wikibooks textbook on Physics, designed to contain everything you need to know for the OCR Physics B (Advancing Physics) specification [1]. All sorts of useful documents for this specification are available at http://www.ocr.org.uk/qualifications/as-a-level-gce-physics-b-advancing-physics-h159-h559/ . For students studying AQA A Level Physics, this AQA-approved student book is an essential resource. With clear guidance, plenty of practice exam questions and targeted practical skills support, this book takes students through the full course and beyond.
I cannot say, though, that I was able to learn physics well from it. It may just be that I am poor learner, though. This new edition follows the syllabus exactly and is written in two parts, reflecting the AS and A Level section division of the syllabus. Each core practical has a useful worked example, covering the different kinds of questions you could be asked. There is a further section on exam style questions at the end of the book, with multiple choice and structured questions. All questions have the answers provided. This book also covers in detail the general practical skills you need to develop, such as knowledge of techniques and methodology, as well as specific skills such as how to take a measurement using a micrometer or how to combine uncertainties. Here you'll find everything you need to prepare for AS level Physics including our specification and sample assessment materials.

Advanced Physics is a wonderful book which makes physics inspiring and mind-blowing. It is beautifully laid out and has an excellent balance of text to worked examples, illustrations, practice questions and key points.” ( TES (Review for the 1st Edition))
Differentiation for support and extension, with ramped summary questions in every topic, and clearly identified extension material Clear coverage of the latest specification from an experienced author team of examiners and teachers, plus a free Student’s CD-ROM. Practice questions at the end of every chapter, including multiple choice, maths, practical, and synoptic questionsIn A level mathematics is where calculus based physics is tested there are 4 modules, usually 2 are pure math, and 2 are applied math. The applied math modules for me were Mechanics 1, and Statistics 1. Those use calculus based physics. Also existing is the possibility of another qualification known as further maths, which is basically, more pure math and applied math.
