About this deal
The new models of this stove-top Caffettieraare equipped with a new column design with a pressure valve system that uses a small silicone pressure regulator instead of the famous Brikka weight mechanism.
Wondering how I got to that conclusion and how to tailor your moka pot to your situation? Keep reading below. The valve system is screwed to the top of the column/coffee pipe and has an “O” ring that seals it to the column.Taking the Brikka 2020 apart for periodic cleaning and/or maintenance is easy and similar to older versions. If we take a look at the sizes of one of the most well-known producers of moka pots, Bialetti, we can see that the amount of cups and the milliliters don’t quite line up; Bialetti moka pot cups vs. quoted milliliter size Cups
Its unique and innovative dual-valve system regulates the pressure of water flowing through the coffee grounds while the open lid allows air to circulate into the valve, to create the perfect 'crema'. The Brikka is the only Bialetti coffee maker capable of producing the cream of the espresso, thanks to its silicone membrane, designed and developed to enhance the maximum creaminess of coffee for a more full-bodied and intense flavour. A 1:1 coffee to crema ratio? This sounds odd, unless the coffee consists high percentage of robusta and perhape some baking soda. I doubt those numbrs represent the crema of a standard 30 ml. of coffee nor my tests showed that.
Put the coffee maker on the heat source. In case of flame, prevent it from going beyond the rim of the coffee unit. In case of electric/ceramic glass plate, do not use the highest heat. It might be tempting to go for a bigger pot and just fill it less when you don’t need it. However, moka pots don’t really work that way. A certain size is designed to work with a certain amount of water and coffee grounds. That means completely filling to the recommended amount will produce the best results.
