Some history. Chivas Regal started life as a 25-year-old whisky in 1909, but due to Prohibition in the US it largely disappeared in the late 1920s, re-emerging as a 12-year blend – Chivas 12 – in the 1930s. Even then, in a red wax sealed bottle brandishing the words ‘Chivas Aberdeen,’ were the crossed lances which are still part of our identity today. A British Royal Warrant was important as it signified to upper class & nobility that royalty continually chose this supplier and naturally, the emporium/brand was inextricably linked with status. Every Chivas Regal whisky has its own unique formula and selection of aged whiskies, with their own character, flavour and taste experience.

After opening a successful emporium in Aberdeen the brothers found success in their new tradition of ageing whiskies beneath their emporium.
