About this deal

In the Genetic Age, this dinosaur’s genome has been sequenced and it was cloned by International Genetic Technologies for the Jurassic World theme park. Previously, it had been cloned by InGen on Isla Sorna, though it was not successfully brought to Isla Nublar at that point in time. It shows fewer phenotypic anomalies than many of InGen’s other animals, making it scientifically one of the most useful specimens. While exhibiting it proved to be too much of a challenge, Carnotaurus DNA was utilized by Dr. Henry Wu in the creation of the Scorpios (and subsequently the Indominus) genome. In particular, the horns of the Scorpios were derived from abelisaurid gene donors such as Carnotaurus. If its enhanced immune system as described in the junior novels has carried over into the film canon, this would be another potential point of interest in its genome, a possible source of medical treatments. Politics Carnotaurus appears in the novelization of Jurassic Park III, though misspelled " Carnotosaurus", based off the film's original script. The Ingen Carnotaurus had a highly developed form of camouflage well beyond that of any other animal. It is never known if this is a natural feature or a product of genetic tampering. By changing of color of their scales the Carnotaurus could replicate complex patterns in the environment to such a degree that it made them extremity difficult to observe. They were nocturnal because their system of camouflage was most effective at night. Thanks to this ability they were expert ambush predators but were too slow to give chase to prey, relying on speed and the element of surprise to make a kill.

It is conceivable that once Toro recovers from his physical injuries, he may continue to pursue the campers in his hunt. Without the protection of Bumpy, the campers may face increased risk. https://jurassicpark.fandom.com/wiki/File:%D0%A0%D1%91%D0%B2%D1%81%D0%B0%D0%BC%D0%BA%D0%B83.ogg Behind the Scenes and Trivia [ ] Paleontology in South America moved forward in great strides with Carnotaurus, which provided new information about abelisaurid anatomy and evolution when it was discovered. It is one of the most complete representatives of its kind, even though only one fossil has ever been found. Research into Carnotaurus has yielded knowledge of its biomechanics, allowing scientists to determine that it was among the fastest of the theropods. With such impressive statistics and a unique appearance, Carnotaurus is a popular favorite among laypeople, making it an excellent science communication ambassador and a way to get people interested in paleontology. The Carnotauruses made their territory in the area surrounding the Laboratory and the Worker Village. Few other animals would venture into Carnotaurus territory during the nighttime. Both the feared Velociraptors and Tyrannosauruses were observed to be wary in the vicinity of their territory. This meant that within there territory they were most likely the apex predator during the night. Once it becomes day, however, the other animals lose their fear of Carnotaurus due to their nocturnal behavior. Carnotaurus lived in what is now Argentina in La Colonia Formation. The environment consisted of estuaries, tidal flats or coastal plains with a seasonal both dry and humid climate depending on the period. It lived alongside turtles, crocodiles, plesiosaurs, dinosaurs, lizards, snakes and mammals.

Toro was one of the many dinosaurs cloned by InGen and Masrani Global for exhibition in Jurassic World on Isla Nublar. However, at some point in his life, Toro became overly aggressive and had to be moved to a separate enclosure away from the public's eye. Some time later, Toro tried to hunt Ben and Bumpy, as they were separated from the other campers at the time. As the episode progresses where Ben gains courage, he battles Toro with Bumpy, now a sub-adult, coming in recently, and they send him falling down a cliff. [7] While Toro wasn't killed by the fall, he was gravely injured.
