Our six year old loves the rhyming and reads this with great expression and enthusiasm! Adults will enjoy reading this or having their little ones read this to them.
Join in as the dinosaurs stir up a dinosaurumpus! Instantly appealing, with bright and lively illustrations, and Tony Mitton's fantastic poetry and rhyming words. The rhyme scheme of the poem is engaging and the illustrations by David Roberts are really interesting and different from many others of Donaldson’s books, but I nevertheless found the book charming and delightful without being preachy.
Our trip to the World museum will take place on Wednesday 21st January. We believe this will be a great opportunity for us to learn more about dinosaurs. Many children’s books make great stimulus for philosophical discussion. Don’t be put off by the notion of philosophy– kids are natural philosophers always asking why. Below are some of the “Big Questions” That arise from the book. Our suspicions that a dinosaur was on the school premises was confirmed when Miss Cochrane showed us a picture of a T-rex outside school!
This was the first of my books that David Roberts illustrated, and we had a memorable launch in the Natural History Museum, presided over by a gigantic dinosaur skeleton.A rhyming text with a memorable refrain, along with a gentle anti-war message and bold, appealing illustrations, will make this book a welcome addition to any child's library.
