The rhyme scheme of the poem is engaging and the illustrations by David Roberts are really interesting and different from many others of Donaldson’s books, but I nevertheless found the book charming and delightful without being preachy.
Our trip to the World museum will take place on Wednesday 21st January. We believe this will be a great opportunity for us to learn more about dinosaurs. Many children’s books make great stimulus for philosophical discussion. Don’t be put off by the notion of philosophy– kids are natural philosophers always asking why. Below are some of the “Big Questions” That arise from the book. Our suspicions that a dinosaur was on the school premises was confirmed when Miss Cochrane showed us a picture of a T-rex outside school!
